THESE ARE SOME OF THE SERVICES THAT CAN BE PROVIDED:
SWEDISH MASSAGE Swedish massage increases oxygen flow into the blood and releases toxins from the muscles. In doing so, it will shorten recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissue of lactic acid, uric acid, and metabolic waste. It reduces stress both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management.
ACUPRESSURE Acupressure is an ancient healing art developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago, using the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these acupressure points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force energy to aid healing. Benefits of using acupressure include relieving pain, balancing the body, and maintaining good health. Acupressure's healing touch reduces tension, increases circulation, and enables the body to relax deeply. By relieving stress, acupressure therapy strengthens resistance to disease and promotes wellness.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY Trigger points are irritable tight spots in taut bands of muscle which are painful when you press on them and cause pain to be projected or "triggered" in distant predictable patterns specific for each muscle. Trigger points are often misdiagnosed and mistreated because they are rarely (20% of the time) located where the pain is felt. By using specific massage techniques, trigger points and their painful effects can be eliminated.
MYOFASCIAL / DEEP TISSUE RELEASE When muscles are stressed, they block the flow of oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue, thus causing pain. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly.
CUPPING can also be used to help with myofascial release as therapist deems necessary.
MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUES/PNF STRETCHING Muscle Energy Techniques/PNF Stretching is a type of flexibility exercise which combines muscle contraction and relaxation with passive and partner-assisted stretching. With the passive application of MET/PNF, the practitioner will stretch various muscles of the client’s body to eliminate muscle fiber contraction and allow the muscle to return to its normal length and eliminate pain. In application of partner-assisted stretching, the client is instructed to apply a light force against the practitioner’s position to produce an isometric stretch. The result of this work is to increase range of motion and alleviate muscle pain.
HOT STONE THERAPY Basalt stones, bamboo stones, or himalayan salt stones are heated and used with massage strokes to bring warmth deep into the muscles in conjunction with the massage. This allows the muscles to soften, relax thereby allowing deeper work for relieving pain and stress, and releasing toxins. Areas of treatment include arms, legs, hands, feet and back.
PFRIMMER DEEP TISSUE THERAPY A highly refined system of corrective treatment that aids in restoration of damaged muscles and soft tissue of the entire body by using a specific series of cross tissue movements applied to the muscles. It aids in releasing muscle restrictions and helps balance the stress on weight bearing joints.
CROSS FIBER TECHNIQUE A method of massage where the muscle fibers are massaged across the fibers enabling the muscles to relax quickly and effectively, and reducing restrictions in the muscles.
SITE SPECIFIC MEDICAL MASSAGE This involves attention to the specific muscle or muscle groups affected, such as the shoulder or neck muscles, by providing manual therapy techniques which may include therapeutic tissue massage, trigger point, cupping, and accupressure to those areas to reduce pain and improve ROM as well as return the client's body back to a more normal status.
KINESIOLOGY TAPE Specialized tape that is used to enhance or inhibit the way muscles , tendons, and fascia are working. The tape is applied specifically to problem areas and left in place for 4 to 5 days.
Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
Off site chair massage will be charged at a slightly higher rate, depending on the location.
